What is the difference between a shake and a smoothie? Anyone?
I went to the store after the beach today. Yes, the beach! We have no candy for tomorrow so I thought I’d take a look at what’s on sale. However, I was hungry so all I could see were the bags of Almond Joy and kids love those, right? So I but what I need for dinner and breakfast and get no candy, not trusting myself to be home alone with it.
I decide to have a protein shake to hold me until dinner. I open the pantry and the coconut practically jumps out at me. I am back to Almond Joy! I blended the following ingredients to make an Almond Joy Protein shake that was delicious. Sadly, I forgot to take a picture.
2 cups unsweetened vanilla almond milk, 1 heaping spoonful cocoa, 2 tablespoons shredded coconut, 1 scoop protein powder, handful of almonds, dash vanilla extract, dash cinnamon, whatever sweetener you use (I use vegetable glycerin) to taste, 4 ice cubes
I put all of the above into the Vitamix, but a blender should work as well. Blend until ice is crushed and it’s the consistency you like. I drank mine, but if you blend it less you could eat it with a spoon. ENJOY!
And yes, this is not really on topic, but it is in that I recognized candy would be a poor choice!
