Part of growing, for me, is knowing when to relax and recharge.  I often find myself at events with people doing things that when they are done, I don’t feel refreshed or renewed. I feel as if I wasted precious time doing something that did not contribute to my sense of well being.  This is not to say everything I do is all about me; it isn’t and one look at my calendar would show the truth of that statement.  But I need downtime.  And last night was awesome down time.

A picnic on the beach, thrown together with odd bits and pieces from the refrigerator along with a cold bottle of proseco, after evening Mass with my husband.  We ate, drank and sat on the beach until darkness.  I lay back, watching the stars appear, one by one.  A light show by the Creator.

We used the light from my phone to find our way off the beach and wash the sand off our feet.  We were the last car out of the parking lot.

I love watching the sunset on the beach. God shows his best stuff after the sun goes down and most people leave 17 seconds after it hits the water. And those silly people MISS it.
