Pentecost celebrates the birthday of the Catholic Church. It is the day that the Holy Spirit descended on the apostles who were scared and locked in a room waiting for something, someone to come and move them forward to fulfill Jesus’ command to “Go. therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit” (Mt 28:19). And someone did come, in wind and flame and set them all on fire! The Holy Spirit came and gave the apostle seven gifts, wisdom, understanding, counsel, fortitude, knowledge, piety, and fear of the Lord. Each year I pray a novena before Pentecost and ask for an increase in the gifts of the Holy Spirit.
Here are 3 options for you to pray this novena:
My old favorite from EWTN.
This one from Pray more Novenas.
And the one I’m using this year from Discerning Hearts.
